I think I have a crush.

Meet Mr Z. I have taken his picture for the past two years and he just keeps getting cuter. He has such "cool" hair. When I ask him to move it out of his eyes so I can get a picture with his eyes visible he has the flip down pat. Add to that the fact that he is so nice and if I were 8 years old I would have had a hard time focusing.

and of course I have to include one of my favorite types of pictures with the sun from behind.

Back to the beginning

People often ask how I started out in the photo business. So here is the story, I had a bad mall photo experience- haven't we all? At the time I was a scrapbooker (photography has since taken over that spot) and one of my scrapbook magazines had an article about taking "studio" type of pictures in your own home. I gave it a shot- not too bad. Then in the fall of 2005 I got my first dslr camera and I fell in love. That holiday season I took my kids Christmas pictures as well as a few of my friends. It was so fun and I loved doing it. One of my friends, Karen K, thought that was so cool that I was taking pictures. Mind you I had not taken any of her children- yet, but that didn't stop her from telling everyone she knew to call me. In March 2006 I am contacted by a friend of Karen's- would I take pictures of her children? I was petrified. It was my first "non-friend" shoot. Shelly was so nice and friendly and her children were adorable. I think that is when my hobby began to grow into something else.

Why am I tell you this story, you ask? Here we are 2 and a half years later and my first client is back. She is a little bummed that my $20 for the session and you get the disc with all the pictures deal is gone, but hopefully the improvement in my photography skills makes up for that.

Oh, and Karen K's kids? you will see them next week on the blog- so stay tuned.

An adorable family

Meet Miss G and her family. She was so sweet and a fun way to end my day. Thanks for the smiles Miss G!

ok, all caught up on Sunday shoots!

Meet Mr R

Mr R is in Kindergarten and he was so fun to talk to after a morning of little ones running away from me it was nice to have someone happy to chat. It seems I have chose some of his more serious looks to post- but he was quite a funny guy.

Here he is with his beautiful Mom.

And More Cousins!

These three cuties were next. Here are Mr N and Mr R they are cousins.

Mr A looking so cute in his hat hanging in the leaves.

Mr R practicing his GQ moves
Here is Mr R's big sister Miss N

Two more and then I am all caught up on sneak peeks from Sunday.

More Cousins

Here are a very sweet set of cousins.

Miss E was just learning to walk so she didn't want to sit and smile- she made me chase her down.
Mr J and Miss E were so cute and cooperative. Sit and smile! Love that.

Last of the morning

I love Miss I. Her grandparents are my next door neighbors and so she comes over to play a lot. She has a smile that lights up her whole face. As soon as I lift my camera though she gives one of those canned smiles. So we had to work to get her real smile- but I think this one is pretty good...

Here is the newest addition to the family, Mr M...

Ok, folks I am taking a break from sneak peeks right now, or else the ones I put up this morning will be bumped. Hope you enjoy my very busy day.

Family Day

Mr T's cousins came right after his session. Look how happy they were to run around together.

Without further ado here are his cousins, you might recognize them, Miss N and Miss S.

Five to go!

Day at Wilbraham & Monson Academy

Sunday was my first big day at Wilbraham & Monson Academy taking pictures all day. I had seven families! The weather was a bit chilly but it was beautiful. First up Mr T.

What is better than trying to catch a falling leaf in Autumn?

Where is my count now? Oh yes, five down, 6 to go!

In search of...

the perfect picture of all of your children together. Yes it is the holy grail at holiday time and the toughest picture to get. The more children you add to a picture the harder it is- this is the second time I have tried to get the "perfect" shot of these girls. Still not sure we got it- but they are beautiful!

That is all for Saturday, now on to Sunday. 7 more right?

Two Cuties

Next up... Miss J and Mr N. Miss J was very sweet and helpful with her little brother.

Mr N is raring to go- once he gets his feet about him watch out Mom and Dad.

Three down, 8 to go!

A repeat client

I love photographing the same children again. I haven't seen Mr O for a long time, don't think he could even sit up the last time I took his picture. Well things have changed! Mr O is a very active, almost 2 year old!

Here is the picture that almost gave me a heart attack. In fact I was so nervous I forgot to try to get a picture the first few times Dad did this.
Two down, 9 to go!

I feel my blog is being stalked

Well I have 11 sessions from this past weekend that I need to get up here. My goal today is to try to get at least half of them up. Without further ado... here is Mr J.

Mr J has two twin brothers Mr Z- playing peek-a-boo behind a tree...
and Mr A. Mr A had surgery on his eyelid recently but I like to think he is winking at me because I am so cute. I think you are cute too Mr A!
The whole beautiful family.
One down 10 to go!

More from Colin and Lindsey's Wedding

Working my way through all of the many pictures from this past week and decided there were a few pictures I wanted share from this wedding. I can't believe I forgot to show you all these beauties. Five of Colin's 6 neices were the flower girls. Aren't they the sweetest?

Here are a few more of my favorites...

I realized I forgot to showcase any of Marc's pictures. Usually Marc does not like going to weddings, he is not one to embrace small talk. But when it comes to photographing a wedding, hand him a zoom lens and tell people not to look at him and he is in the zone. He has been very willing to join me at 2 weddings now and I am pretty sure I can convince him to come to more. I enjoy the different perspective he captures and he enjoys stretching his photographic skills. So here are some of my favorites from his camera.

He is always under strict orders to get this picture- the groom's face as the bride comes down the aisle.
He also is good at capturing pictures of the flower girls...

Oh, and pictures of my good friend when she isn't looking. (I might get in trouble for putting this one up, but I think it is a beautiful picture).
