James and Beth's Wedding | Springfield, MA wedding photographer

It was 95 degrees on Sunday and when I was supposed to be helping my husband move us out of our house I slipped out to take some pictures at James and Beth's wedding. Despite the heat the bride was beautiful and no one was complaining.

Sharon and Tom's Wedding | Springfield, MA wedding photographer

The wedding day was BEAUTIFUL! I will share a few of the details first. The ceremony took place at Sharon's childhood church, a wonderful charming building.

They had a cool cupcake cake at the reception.

The reception was a tea.

Now on to the big day! Here are Sharon and her father just before entering the church.

No pictures were allowed during the ceremony- but this picture is one of my favorites at weddings. The happy couple heading back up the aisle.

We did most of the pictures after the reception. The wedding party were real troopers to add an extra hour or two to their day so that we could capture some great shots.

Our last location of the day was Brenton Point at just before sunset. We climbed out to some rocks to get some truly beautiful pictures.

Tom was done with pictures and decided to whisk his bride away!

Just one for now... | Western MA wedding photographer

I KNOW I am behind in proofing and sneak peeks- I have two sessions from Cape Cod that I haven't put up here yet. BUT I just couldn't wait to share at least one picture from the wedding I went to this weekend. Sharon and I are college friends and I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her beautiful wedding in Newport. Congrats to both of you- more pictures coming later I promise.

Stephanie and Joe's Wedding |Springfield, MA Wedding Photographer

People ask me if I do weddings. The answer is yes, but I have a few requirements. First I am a natural light photographer and as of now my flash and I do not have a great relationship so I try to limit myself to weddings that are outside or in well lit situations, I feel that is best for both me and the bride. The second requirement is that I need laid back brides :)

Stephanie and Joe fit perfectly into my requirements. If you watched the weather at all this week you know that the weather today was touch and go- they were very close to having the wedding inside and I was going to have to get to know my flash a little better. Luckily Mother Nature gave the first blessing to this marriage and the forecast changed overnight!

One of my favorite things about weddings are the details:
first a beautiful location, The Delany House...

next a cool cupcake wedding cake, courtesy of the bride's brother I believe...

at every place setting there was a little box just like this, I am told they contained chocolate. I am proud to tell you that I didn't rip into them before everyone arrived...

Of course my favorite details of the wedding are the two primary people, the groom...

and the bride...

two cute bridesmaids don't hurt either...

Anyone that knows me, knows that this is one of my favorite pictures at every wedding, the groom's face when he sees his beautiful bride coming down the aisle...

And I think this is the groom's favorite moment- the kiss!

Every groom needs some guys to make sure he makes it down the aisle and Joe had a quite a crowd- aren't they good sports?

Not to be left out Stephanie was surrounded by her own great group.

Stephanie's daughter was her maid of honor and she did a great job!

But my most FAVORITE part about photographing a wedding is that I get to take pictures of people that are truly happy. And nothing is more beautiful than a happy person...

don't you agree??

Every time I photograph a wedding I am truly grateful that this couple has welcomed me into their circle for their special day. I always wish that my pictures can do their day justice. Thank you Stephanie and Joe- best wishes!

More from Colin and Lindsey's Wedding

Working my way through all of the many pictures from this past week and decided there were a few pictures I wanted share from this wedding. I can't believe I forgot to show you all these beauties. Five of Colin's 6 neices were the flower girls. Aren't they the sweetest?

Here are a few more of my favorites...

I realized I forgot to showcase any of Marc's pictures. Usually Marc does not like going to weddings, he is not one to embrace small talk. But when it comes to photographing a wedding, hand him a zoom lens and tell people not to look at him and he is in the zone. He has been very willing to join me at 2 weddings now and I am pretty sure I can convince him to come to more. I enjoy the different perspective he captures and he enjoys stretching his photographic skills. So here are some of my favorites from his camera.

He is always under strict orders to get this picture- the groom's face as the bride comes down the aisle.
He also is good at capturing pictures of the flower girls...

Oh, and pictures of my good friend when she isn't looking. (I might get in trouble for putting this one up, but I think it is a beautiful picture).

Colin and Lindsey's Wedding

Colin and Lindsey were married today. This wedding was especially fun for me since I remember when the groom was born. Yes, that's right, I am that old. Colin is the younger brother of my childhood friend, Kristin. They had a beautiful wedding on a beautiful fall day. The wedding was held at the Webb Barn in Old Wethersfield, CT.

They were such great sports and willing to go out downtown and take some pictures. They were greeted with many well wishes and a couple of honks!

That's all for now- I am off to bed!

Gerrit and Sal's Wedding

Gerrit and Sal got married today. In fact they got married twice. Once in Connecticut and tonight in Massachusetts. The exciting news is that gay marriage is now legal in Connecticut as well. Gerrit has planned weddings for years and finally got to be on the other side of the table. No detail was left untouched. All of their thought and hard work paid off. The ceremony was personal and intimate. They were surrounded by their family and closest friends in a loving circle while they exchanged their vows. Since the ceremony was set to coincide with sunset we did our portraits before the wedding. First of all the men of the hour...

I can't forget these two. I have know Miss M and Miss S since they were very small. I don't get to see them very often anymore so it was fun to see them again tonight. They had special roles since Garrit is their uncle.
Sal and his "boy band".
Taking a moment before the ceremony.

Gerrit's parents were married by candlelight and he wanted to do the same.

Miss S blowing out the candles...

After the sun set everyone headed inside for a nice dinner, by candlelight.

Congratulations Sal and Gerrit, thank you for trusting me to capture day. Another wedding tomorrow and more beautiful weather predicted!
