Day one in VA, part one

mostly we are all a little lazy today. the kids have been having fun just hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma has a huge box of legos that she brought upstairs. That has been keeping our attention off and on.

Since I have been woefully remiss in working with Jessica on academic things this summer I brought along her first grade book on this trip thinking it would be something we could do. She was very excited and sat right down to work. When we told her she was being very quiet she looked at us and said with a straight face, "that's because I take my work seriously". As you can see Grandpa takes his work seriously too.



we helped Grandma get some beans and tomatos from the garden too, now if I could just get them to eat them...
we went to the AWESOMEST playground after lunch. I will include pictures in my next post.

2 quick pics

Jessica lost another tooth! We knew it was going to happen, the next tooth was growing right in behind this one. This time we wrapped the tooth the special way that Daddy used to always do it as a kid and left the bundle next to the bed. In the morning the bundle was there, but the tooth was gone and it had money inside instead- magical!

Here is another amusing picture, and I am so glad that Marc captured it. This is how Justin sleeps. He is a nomadic sleeper. He does not "conform to traditional sleeping practices" as Marc likes to say. He goes to bed with his head at the other end of the bed and the covers on top, but that is not the way he stays.

well we are off to VA tomorrow morning and then on to NC next Saturday. Our last hurrah of the summer, we are all very excited to be beach bums again. Jill is here today, all the way from Washington, so I am going to go and visit.

A Picture Party

I did my first picture party last weekend. A client contacted me and asked if I would come out to their house to take pictures and she would round up a bunch of other families too and we would do a bunch of mini-sessions. It was lot of fun. Six different families and many different groupings. I had photographed M & S, nine month old twins, when they were 5 months old it was fun to see them again and see how much they have grown already. I have also included a pic of little miss K, such a cutie and full of smiles. Thank you Kate for welcoming me into your home and introducing me to your family and friends, can't wait to see the girls at one year!

A nice visit with an old friend

My friend Manjula and her children Kiran and Rupali came for a visit today. Manjula and her family live in Germany so we don't get to see them very often. Unfortunately she came in the one day in 7 that it was rainy and cold- total bummer. the kids took awhile to warm up to each other. Ms. Rupali only wanted to sit with her mom for the first hour or so. But once the board games came out and after a rousing game of Hullabaloo, they were all running around the house having a great time. Pizza and Mac n Cheese for dinner and I had won them over. It was so nice to visit and get to know her children a little bit since neither Justin nor Rupali could even sit up the last time we all got together.

well I have decided to join the blogging world. I figure it is a way to update family and friends on our life as well as showcase some of my recent photo sessions. We have been very busy this summer so lets start with a few from our trip to Maine with the Hartzogs .

UPCOMING DATES

It is Picture Taking Season! Below you will find my Fall weekend schedule. I have set up some picture taking days at various locations. There are many open weekend dates available if you are interested in different locations- like your home- as well. I highly encourage you to book your appointment as early as possible, this gives us a cushion for rainy days as well as the Fall Cold your child will get at some point. Plus it is warm and the trees have leaves in September and October- not so much in November.

My Fees have increased- all appointments in Wilbraham are now $75 and all appointments in the greater Springfield area are $100. There are two exceptions to this rule: the first is the all day shoots I have scheduled- all of those are $75 each regardless of location or number of people; the second exception is weekday appointments. All weekday appointments scheduled when my children are in school will revert to the previous session fee structure of $55 in Wilbraham and $75 in greater Springfield.

I will continuously update this page so that you know what is available. Once a slot has been booked I will put your last name in that slot so that we both know you have the space taken.

I will be booking returning clients first- starting September 3rd I will open up the appointments for new clients.
