I have totally been enjoying all these senior photo shoots and I have been blessed to find a nice group of students who are insisting I take their pictures! It is such a nice break from the little ones. I also love the flexibility these shoots offer. Miss A went from the sweet soccer player to a gorgeous woman right before my eyes.

Well we were supposed to get together last Sunday- um pretty sure you know how well that panned out. Then we were supposed to meet at Stanley Park but it was closed. So we did our best on a very chilly morning yesterday. The good news is that Mr J is super cute no matter where we take the pics!

This was the final family before that CRAZY HORRIBLE storm hit- literally this session ended and about 2 hours later the snow began to fall. I finally remembered that I had a blanket in the back of my car and we used that to keep us warm between pictures. They were total troopers!

When this Mom first contacted me last year about pictures I was excited because I love photographing the cousins of these girls. Then Mom mentioned that she has five, yes 5, girls. And I admit to thinking briefly about cancelling. You see, as many of you know, the more children you add to a picture the harder it is to get a good shot. I am so glad I ignored my first instinct, because this group is so easy to photograph! I had the pleasure of photographing their eldest Miss J this summer for her senior pictures and was looking forward to seeing the whole family again.

I arrived at my 9am Sunday appointment, it was definitely chilly and I thought- ooh I hope they don't have any little little ones. Much to my surprise they had no children what so ever. An all adult shoot? hmmm I wonder if this is going to be dull and boring.... NOT AT ALL!! This family was a hoot and had me laughing the entire time- yeah I know I am supposed to be making them laugh but it doesn't always work out that way.

After I took this picture- at his suggestion, not mine- I knew I had a gang ready to have a good time. So we went off on a picture taking adventure!

I casually mentioned that I often have children jump off the wall- all eyes lit up!

I have photographed this family in their backyard for a few years now. Last year we talked about finding a new location for this year. Well the tornado that rippped through our town in June rode right over their house. And now- Voila! Same backyard but basically a new location. Instead of a forest of trees behind their backyard wall we now have a mountain that no one realized was there before. Love when the start of my day comes with great attitudes and big smiles! This family shot is one of the last ones I took- the grass was so wet I didn't want them to have soaking wet pants for the whole session. Waiting until the end can be tricky because sometimes kids are just DONE. Luckily it worked and this shot is my favorite!

Well we dodged the rain- phew! It was a bit touch and go, but in the end it totally worked out. Mom and I went to college together (just a few years ago- I swear!) and now we live fairly close to one another but can't seem to get our acts together to see each other unless we actually schedule it! When Mr M starting losing focus we warned him that we would be happy to sit there all afternoon chatting, unfortunately for us he took us seriously and we did not get the long visit for which we were hoping.

I have known these three since they were each born- can't believe how big they are now! As everyone knows trying to get a nice family picture can be challenging to say the least. My hope is that when you see the pictures and hang them on your wall you forgot the "pain" and enjoy the moments (and then call me again the next year because you have been looking at the happy pictures all year and forgot how tough it can be). I first met Mom and Dad when mom was pregnant with sweet Miss A. Mom let me know that she does not like having her picture taken. Super Troopers! | Chicopee, MA family photographer

So... here is how my day was supposed to go... I had planned on being at Quabbin Reservoir in Belchertown all day taking pictures. Here is how my day actually went... it POURED all day- but here is the thing- it only rained in BELCHERTOWN!! Many people cancelled and rescheduled, can't blame them. But my 1:00 family decided to go ahead. Of course when we all arrived (and they will want it to be noted that they arrived EARLY which is new for them) it was pouring, pouring, pouring. We decided to be adventurous and head west, because here is the thing, as soon as you left the town lines of Belchertown the sun came out- true story. I suggested we just go back to their house. After about 20 minutes of driving I realized I didn't really know where they lived. Luckily they chose a detour and we ended up at Chicopee State Park. By this time the kids had been in the car for about an hour so they win my Super Trooper award!

Here is a picture of Miss MK- on the last day she will be three years old, tomorrow when she wakes up she will be four!

There is a good chance I will be getting a call in a few minutes asking me to take down this picture. And there is a greater chance that call will not be coming from the subject pictured, but his wife. But since I am the boss of the blog and since this picture makes me laugh I am sharing it with you. Dad had lots of opinions how the "running" shot should go- there is supposed to be a lot of skipping and jumping, unfortunately he could not coax anyone to join him.

Well we have tried to schedule this session for about 5 months. But due to various kid illnesses we had to keep rescheduling. Finally everyone was healthy and we were ready to go on Monday. But, on Sunday I had to call to reschedule because it was supposed to (and did) downpour rain all day. FINALLY we were able to go ahead today!! So here are Mr M's one year pictures (well 5 months late).

I love what I do, have I mentioned that before?? One of the greatest perks is by being a photographer it has allowed me to reconnect with many people and I love that! This adorable family is a perfect example. I was hosting a party for a friend this past weekend and this family decided to come for the festivities. BUT instead of just coming to the party I had them meet me at one of my favorite spots- Wilbraham & Monson Academy so we could get some family pictures first. That meant I got some extra time with two adorable giggling girls (oh and their parents).

As many of you know the more children you add to a picture the more difficult it can get. While I do love a challenge, I KNOW the mothers (and fathers I suppose) of these larger families really appreciate being able to get a picture with their entire family. I am always pleased when I can make those dreams come true (and when it looks effortless).

Mr C, the littlest guy, LOVED saying Bye- it was so cute and I didn't take it personally.

Mr L came over to see me yesterday morning. He was so snoozy and sweet! Even my cat took a liking to him. I loved spending the morning with him and getting my much needed newborn fix. I am sure these pictures will help you get your fix too!

I met up with this family last year when I was in Cape Cod and it was so nice to see them again. Mom and I went to college together many years ago. The clouds were rolling in and we were trying to beat the rain. This was the first picture I took that night- a great start.

Miss J LOVES the camera! She is so fun to photograph and the camera loves her too! I can't decide if I prefer this picture in color...

As many of you know I get the majority of my clients through word of mouth. Occasionally people find me through my blog or Facebook. But this is the first time I have found a client through jury duty! See jury duty isn't all bad.

I have been doing a lot of large family groups lately. I think summer is a good time because families are getting together. I really enjoy these groups too- so fun to see the cousins playing and laughing together. I am told this picture will make Nana very happy.

These families were having a fun reunion. The moms all went to college together not too long ago and were bringing their families together for a weekend reunion. We figured it was a great time to grab some pictures. First we got a shot of just four....

Then we decided to throw in all the kids....

The last time I met this family at this location our session lasted 5 minutes before we were rained out. The last time there were only 3 kids and now there are 4! We were all thrilled that the weather was totally different, but the subjects were exactly the same- totally adorable!

Mr W is turning one so we made sure we got some good pictures of him.

I love getting one nice family picture but I am THRILLED when I can get two!

I tried to take pictures of this extended family just before Easter as you can see here. That day we made plans to meet at the beach during their summer vacation. They vacation together with another large extended family every year so we thought the more the merrier!

Then we decided to take break it down.

This beautiful family is about to leave their adorable house for a new one in the burbs. Mom wanted some pictures before they moved out. I arrived at their home Sunday morning having not gotten home from the Taylor Swift concert until 3am the night before. They were very understanding of my scatter brained behavior and I really enjoyed my morning hanging out with them.

Mr O was as tired as I was I think- but no one can resist being up high in their daddy's hands.

Then we headed inside to get some pictures in their rooms.

Ugh- we have been planning this shoot for weeks. One of these families is visiting from out of town and we were looking forward to big family shoot. Sadly the rain had some plans too. When I arrived it was just about to rain so we dashed outside to get a few of the whole gang.

Then the rain arrived. We tried a few in the doorway.

Then we went inside and I tried to make friends with my flash...

Well my flash and I are still not as close as I would like- wish I could control the weather!

Can you believe I forgot to share these pictures with all of you?? I took them at the beginning of the month and then the next day a tornado came through my town and threw me for a loop. Don't worry Mom and Dad got these pictures awhile ago I just forgot to share them with all of you. This is the beautiful Miss J- she was only a few days old when I met her and I bet she is double the size now! She was so sweet and cooperative.

Saturday was First Communion day in our town. I can't think of a better time to get some big group family pictures! Miss J, the youngest of four, was the star of the day.

Pretty sure while I was taking this picture I heard Mom sniffling behind me...

LOVE this one!

Pretty sure Miss L would like to strangle me for sharing this on, she does not like her teeth to show when she smiles. But those are the perks of being in charge (and I think it is a BEAUTIFUL smile)!

Finally our weather is perking up! I get a little disappointed when the beautiful weather arrives and I don't have any photo shoots scheduled- luckily that was not the case yesterday. Mom has had her eye on this field of flowers for years. She and I have discussed taking pictures of her girls here many times. So Mom put me on call about 2 weeks ago as the flowers began to bloom. Then the weather was awful last week and we started to get nervous we weren't going to be able to get "the shot" we wanted. But we held out and were patient. When the sun surprisingly came out this afternoon we decided it was a go. I am so thrilled with the results and glad that we held out for the right day.

and while I love so many of the images I took- this one might just be one of my all time favorites.

We had great plans. A big family gathering Easter weekend at Grandma's house. Ten grandchildren- tons of pictures. Ooooh I was just waiting and waiting to meet these two cuties! Mom was a little surprised when I mentioned that newborn sessions typically take at least 2 hours- when I left her house 3.5 hours later I think she believed me. But it was so worth it- I got to hold and snuggle not one beautiful baby but two!! [and yes I even changed a diaper]. Here they are Miss K and Mr L.

I'm BAAAACK! Did you miss me?? Did you? I can't think of a better way to get into the swing of things than with this total cutie! Meet Mr M. He is 9 weeks old and totally adorable. His family has had a bit of a ride this past year leading up to his arrival- but looking at his adorable smile makes it all worthwhile I think.

Mr M was not a fan of being on his belly so I was quite pleased to see this picture when I got home.

After an hour or so of smiling Mr. M was exhausted!

Today was my last official day of picture taking until the new year. Now the exception is of course for newborns- so if you have a baby in the next month and a half don't be afraid to contact me.

It was a beautiful day today- so nice and warm. I had just one shoot scheduled with this very nice family. Dad is a graduate of Wilbraham & Monson Academy so it was pretty cool to walk around with him and get a little bit of an insiders view. Ok, on to the cuteness!

I had a nice session with a much of cousins this morning. They were very excited to get together and run around. So we would let them run and then take a few pictures and then let them run again. It was pretty fun (and no one made me run).

Not sure what was going on behind me- but it was VERY funny.

I have to give a big shout out to Mom. I changed the location of her shoot from a local pond to her house, not giving her much of a say AND I showed up 30 minutes early. They took it all in stride and I think the end result makes all the fuss worth it- right?

Now I have photographed the older two boys before and I have to say they have come along way- they were quite the models this time!

I was warned that Mr N was going to be tricky, not sit still and not smile. No idea what they are talking about.
